GRAPHIC DESIGN PROJECT FINAL

For my final graphic design project, I made substantial revisions to the images and content in the photo I created in Photoshop. While reading the feedback I received and going through my peers Graphic Design Project’s I realized that my story and poster would be more personal if I used my own images because it gives the audience a first perspective of how fashion has directly made an impact in my life as well as exaggerates the idea I’m trying to get across. All the images I used were taken in the AMDT building where I take all my courses as well as being the major I’m enrolled in. I realized that most students who aren’t AMDT majors have no idea what the environment for our courses is, so I thought it would be helpful to show what that looks like and why it serves such a huge impact in my life. The peer feedback helped me a lot in creating my final draft and I even used some of the ideas recommended to me by my peers. Getting an outside perspective going from the rough to final draft made a significant difference as well as making me much more confident in my poster.

For my image, the patterns and ideas are meant to show that environment and fashion are connected and coincide with one another. The text saying, “The Outside Counts Too” isn’t meant to represent one’s face or the way an individual look but meant to translate that the way one dresses on the outside and being oneself when it comes to clothing having a major effect on one’s confidence and self-love on the inside. Fashion plays a critical role in culture, history, and makes major impacts on things that are even beyond our self.  Fashion is one of the only ways to pinpoint a zeitgeist and we can travel through time and culture solely based on clothes. The text piece in my photo that says, “Dare to Tell Your Story” is meant to represent that the pieces you have in your closet and choose to wear tell a story about yourself. The colors, textures, and patterns you choose come from your creative mind when you are shopping represent your identity. Fashion is one thing that will absolutely never die as long as humanity exists, unless all human beings start running around without clothes. It will continually represent society and its progression with the environment, culture, technology, and society. Fashion is progressive not regressive so it’s growing as we are. Trends change as we change, because as human’s grow and go through different phases, so does our style and fashion. There is no restriction or rules to fashion or how we are supposed to represent ourselves, which is why we should constantly strive to be ourselves and dare to tell our story through the pieces of clothing we buy. If something makes you happy, it isn’t stupid and it’s something you should represent and be bold in showing to those around you. Fashion speaks volumes even before words can.

In conclusion, the poster I created is something I’m really proud of and I was really excited that I got to use all my own images for my final draft. I had fun with the design process and being able to say that everything I used was completely my own.
