Draft Audio Story

For my Audio Story I chose to interview my roommate and friend, Hannah, who moved here from the UK for college and is in my major. I chose her as my topic because moving at eighteen is from a different country is an extreme culture change as well as environment adjustment, and I thought it would be a really interesting topic for an audio story. Hannah is one of so many students who originates from another country and has shifted their life to come to school here. In the interview I asked her how her life here compares to her life in the United Kingdom. I asked her this question because they are such different cultures under different government systems, so each environment is incredibly different. The second question I asked was her favorite food and snacks from the UK because through living with her I noticed how different her food and even condiment selections were. This audio story unit I found more challenging because for the interview type style it’s difficult to create a storyline with only one to two minutes of content. In my interview draft I was only able to fit in two questions worth of content, which is why I tried to choose questions that would be interesting to a listener. Overall, with only being able to fit in a minute and a half of content I’m still happy with the topic I chose because I find the concept of learning of other cultures and environments really interesting. For my final draft I want to edit my introduction to be cleaner and more polished. I also want to add music that fades in and out at the begging and end of the interview but gets quiet during the interview portion. I learned how to do that in the audition tutorials and I think it would be applicable to my final draft and bring it to the next level.
