I chose this topic because fashion is the thing I am most passionate about as well as I am an AMDT Fashion major. It is something that is a part of every individual’s life and a choice that is made every day. I think fashion contributes so much to identity and can say so much about a person even before you meet them. It is a way of expressing creativity and character when words can’t. Not only is it a form of identity but can also be used as a way to build ones’ confidence on the outside as well as the inside. To collect original material on campus and in the AMDT building by taking photos of outfits, videos of people in my major who are affected by fashion as well as people who aren’t in my major but still see the importance of everyday fashion, and audio interviews on people and how fashion effects their lives. I will go to different areas on and off campus to get a variety of images that show a diverse group of people and original ideas. For the photo tutorial unit, I am going to take original photos and edit them with different colored overlays that will help make the images stand out on my blog. I want to make the photos visually interesting through the Photoshop process. I am going to take photos of a number of different outfits and create a montage of all the photos together. For the Video unit, I am going to create a video interviewing people on what fashion means to them and how it represents them.

This relates to my topic extensively and will guide many of my ideas.
